Coronavirus: India hits 24,315 deaths in SAARC regions

India has recorded 937,487 cases and 24,315 deaths at 13:00 pm till Wednesday ( Bangladesh Time), according to latest data from worldometer.

India is the hardest-hit country in the SAARC regions. So far, 593,080 coronavirus infected patients have made full recovery and 320,092 are active cases in the country, the source said.

Bangladesh is the third worst-hit country in the regions with 190,057 cases and 2,424 deaths as of Tuesday. The country has more recovered patients than active cases, according to Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).

A total of  103,227 coronavirus infected patients have been considered recovered while 84,406 are active cases in the country, IEDCR reported.

Among other COVID-19 affected countries in the SAARC regions, Pakistan has gone up to 5,386 deaths from 255,768 cases, Afghanistan 1,048 deaths from 34,740 cases, Nepal 38 deaths from 17,061 cases, Maldives 14 deaths from 2,801 cases, Sri Lanka 11 deaths from 2,665 cases, worldometer reported.

No death was recorded in Bhutan. A total of 84 coronavirus infected patients have been registered while 78 have made full recovery , and six are active cases in the country, the source said.
